Just Book It!: Creating a Print-Rich Environment for Students with Low-Incidence Disabilities - 005807
Students with low-incidence disabilities access grade-level content through prerequisite skills. This session would not be appropriate for teachers of students who access grade-level content through accommodations and/or modifications. The use of symbol-supported text is a high-yield, research-based strategy for providing access to grade-level content to students with significant cognitive disabilities (ages 3-adult) who are pre-emergent or emergent readers. In this interactive onsite and online blended learning experience, participants will be introduced to adapted print materials and the research supporting access through symbol-supported print materials. Participants will also be given websites of digital resources to create a grade-level classroom library.

6 CEUs will be earned by attending the onsite session. An additional 6 CEUs will be earned by completing the online course

Prerequisite/Special Notes Pre-work assignment in online course must be completed prior to attending the onsite training. Participants must attend the onsite training at ESC Region 11 to gain access to the full online course. Participants can earn up to 12 CEUs: 6 hours for the onsite training and 2 hours per online module completion up to 6 additional hours
