Evidence-Based Practices for the Education of Students with Down Syndrome - 011508
This training was developed by the Low-Incidence Statewide Network as a result of a statewide stakeholders meeting of parents of children who have Down Syndrome. At the meeting, parents identified priorities for the education of their children. Their top four priorities were: (1) Training for all educational staff, (2) Inclusion with non-disabled peers, (3) Better communication and teamwork between staff and families, and (4) Futures planning/transition preparation. This training was developed to be shared across the state to help educate and support staff working with students who have Down Syndrome.
