Novice Teacher Training for Special Education Teachers of Students with Low-Incidence Disabilities - Spring - 012414
This interactive and collaborative workshop is for novice (2-5 years) special education teachers in self-contained classrooms for students with Low Incidence Disabilities K-12+. The focus of the day will be on the use of data from STAAR Alternate 2, formative classroom data, informal assessments, IEP progress monitoring, grades, etc., to develop comprehensive PLAAFP statements and individualized IEP goals/objectives. Utilizing a student portfolio, participants will work together as a team to review the data and develop a comprehensive PLAAFP and standards-aligned IEP goals/objectives for a mock student. Participants will then have the opportunity to use the skills and insights learned on a student whom they currently have in their class.
