Organisms and Environments in Grades 3-5 Science - 013407
Teachers in this session will engage in activities that address the relationships that exist between living organisms and the environment. There are connections that enable organisms within populations, communities, and ecosystems to survive by adapting to changes in the living and non-living components. Through indoor and outdoor investigations, teachers will gain from their own experiences and work collaboratively to plan experiences for their students. Speaking and writing about these experiences allow students to grow in their own understanding and help others do the same. Strategies embedded in the session will help teachers make content accessible for struggling learners and English Learners as well as challenging for gifted learners. Participants will need to dress for indoor and outdoor activities during the session.
