Increasing Parent Involvement in Early Intervention: Using the Matrix Approach and Coaching Strategies with Sensory-Impaired Children (Ages 0-3) and Their Families (REMOTE PARTICIPATION) - 013532
Children with sensory impairments, including deafness, visual impairment, and deafblindness, benefit greatly from an early intervention approach that supports family engagement and incorporates research-based early intervention strategies. The Matrix Approach, a new and exciting method designed for use with families, has proven to be successful in helping practitioners integrate parent involvement and coaching strategies into their sessions. It has been developed for use with children with sensory impairments and refined to align with recommendations from the Council for Exceptional Children's Division of Early Childhood. Workshop participants will receive instruction on the Matrix Approach, including opportunities to apply the approach in practice through coaching. This workshop is being offered face-to-face at ESC Region 11 and via livestreaming.
