Essential Tools of the Trade for Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments and Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialists: Functional Vision, Learning Media and ECC Assessments - 014702
A new publication from Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (TSBVI) , "Essential Tools of the Trade: A How To Guide for Completing Functional Vision, Learning Media and Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) Evaluations" (ETT), is a comprehensive, user-friendly guide to assist Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments (TVIs) and Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialists (COMS) in performing legally mandated evaluations for students with visual impairments. ETT includes a template for Functional Vision Evaluations, forms to complete the Learning Media Assessments and guidance for conducting ECC evaluations. Through this two-day presentation, make and take, and webinar follow-up, participants will review vital information in ETT that supports TVIs and COMSs in making informed decisions to guide instruction and identify strategies for intervention. Audiences Teacher - Special Education, Paraprofessionals
Prerequisite/Special Notes Teams of TVIs and COMSs are encouraged to participate. Large district programs that have more that one COMS may receive additional copies of the text, pending availability. One ACVREP contact hour will be awarded for each hour of learner participation in an organized CE activity, excluding breaks, meals, poster sessions, business meetings, and social hours.
