Document-Based Questioning Enhancing Reading, Writing, and Critical Thinking in Social Studies, Grades 4-12 - 010978
Students who use DBQs (Document-Based Questions) gain essential knowledge and skills by learning to use a variety of rich primary and secondary sources in evidence-based writing. This training will assist teachers in communicating complex material within the Social Studies content. Direct connections to grade-level TEKS will be examined. Information gained in this training not only supports student success on STAAR assessments by promoting critical thinking skills, but also articulates the 21st century skills of communication, collaboration, and creativity. Extended learning is expected.
