Teachers will collaborate in hands-on activities and learn how to integrate into their daily reading and writing instruction specific research-based strategies for the five components of reading instruction (Phonological Awareness, Phonics, Vocabulary, Fluency, and Comprehension). Strategies to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of English language learners and students who are struggling with reading will be explored along with ways to use assessment information to make instructional decisions.
