Maximizing Auditory Potential in Total Communication Classrooms (In-Person @ ESC11) - 007391
This workshop, designed for professionals working with students who have hearing differences, will focus on identifying a student's auditory potential, advancements in hearing technology, the basic principles of a Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) approach, factors that need to be considered when determining a student's placement, and practical ways that auditory development can be targeted during everyday routines. Carrie Norman, the presenter, is a Speech-Language Pathologist as well as a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist. She owns Collaborative Communications, a small consulting firm dedicated to helping bridge the gap between clinical and educational services for students and families impacted by hearing loss.
