Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning in the Science Classroom (ONLINE) - 009622
This online facilitated course is designed to provide science teachers in grades 2-12 with support and experiences in the utilization of Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning (CER). This course will connect student thinking and reasoning skills to science concepts. Teachers will evaluate student writing as it relates to their thinking and understanding of science concepts and practice providing meaningful instructional feedback. CER can be utilized to show student understanding of concepts from laboratory and field investigations as well as with some formative assessments. This is a rigorous course that includes applications for use with Special Education and English Learners. Because of the rigor of this course, participants can earn between 6 and 18 hours of Continuing Education Credits. Registration for this course will close on April 2, 2018.
