The Effective Special Education Work-based Learning Program: Administrative, Procedural, and Programmatic Considerations - 013321
From the requirements in IDEIA to the Department of Labor guidance, this workshop will assist special education personnel in developing and operating a quality, legally-compliant Work-Based Learning program for students graduating under one of the IEP options, including competitive employment, specific employability skills, and/or access to outside agency services. Learn how Vocational Rehabilitation; Medicaid Waivers; volunteerism; and campus-based, student-led enterprises can each play a key role in the development of a successful program that takes into consideration the unique needs of individual students. Become familiar with teacher and job coach responsibilities on community-based training sites, the needed documentation trail, transition plan evidence, appropriate course titles, transcript coding, and graduation credit options.
