Mental Health Module 2: Communication - What Doesn't Get Said is Just as Important as What Does - 009047
In this this second of three sessions, Roger C. Williams, LMSW, QMHI-S, CT, NAD V, discusses communication issues that impact the provision of mental health services to deaf individuals. Roger reviews what we know about language acquisition in deaf children along with a discussion regarding what we know about cochlear implants and what is most effective in helping deaf children develop and use language. He then goes on to review dysfluency and language disorders as well as discussing various mental health issues and what they look like in deaf individuals. Presenter: Roger C.
