Science - Middle School - Properties of Matter and the Connection to the Periodic Table - 009943
The periodic table is an ever-expanding tool for scientists, yet the organization, physical, and chemical properties/ characteristics are predictable. Meaningful experiences are key to helping students make the connections. During this session, participants will experience characteristics of metals, nonmetals, and metalloids to help them understand and explain how the properties are used to classify elements. Strategies embedded in the session will help teachers make the content accessible for struggling learners and English learners as well as challenging for gifted students.
