In this session, you will examine the ways that literacy and identity are connected. You will learn the various ways texts can impact students in their self-perception, as well as how they see the world. You will gain strategies in selecting texts that offer authentic representation, as well as instructional strategies that both increase literacy skills and build a community of equity and respect in your classroom.
