North Texas Teen Book Festival Teacher Professional Development - Books, Books, Books: A Symposium for Educators - 013742
This session will feature amazing authors and guests who will share the best new books for readers and focus on practical and exciting ways to engage young readers from upper elementary through high school. Join Sam Houston State University professors Dr. Rose Brock, Dr. Karin Perry, and Dr. Teri Lesesne as they welcome special guests Gordon Korman, Elizabeth Acevado, Soman Chainani, Holly Goldberg Sloan, Max Brallier, and more than two dozen MG and YA authors to North Texas! NOTE: There will not be a featured YA author luncheon this year; attendees may leave for lunch, bring a lunch, or eat in the cafe at the Irving Convention Center. A variety of dining options are also open a block away from the Irving Convention Center.

Audiences Teacher - Early Childhood/PreK/Kindergarten, Teacher - Elementary (Grades 1-5), Teacher - General Education, Teacher - High School (Grades 9-12), Teacher - Middle School (Grades 6-8), Teacher - Bilingual, Teacher - ESL (English as a Second Language), Teacher - Gifted Talented/Advanced Academics, Teacher - Special Education, Teacher Certification Candidate
Prerequisite/Special Notes Must register at either Region 11 ESC (www.region11.net) or Region 10 ESC (www.region10.org). We ask that educators do not bring children to this professional development event; NTTBF provides a free, all day festival on Saturday, March 23rd for readers of all ages. (Parking is $8.00 at the Irving Convention Center.)
